Battling the Bullies.

In this chapter "Language, Perspective, Ideology" it shows how a text will contain linguistic features that act as 'markers' (page 92) or indicators of the perspectives and ideologies of both writer and intended audience.

The first marker of the white perspective occurs at the second word of the text. The reference to the black township of Soweto rather than simply rather than simply to the township of Soweto is directed to an expect ion on the part of the reader that people are white, unless otherwise specified.

Textual analysis and production is difficult for me to understand. In page 75, it has been stated that the analysis moves from locating specific signs, to examining the structures of social myths. How can it make a connection? This is difficult for me.

The first time I read ‘Battling the Bullies’ is not hard and difficult to understand. By looking at the headline we can predict what the article is all about. But when I make it in the 10 elements, its get clearer and easy to understand.

As a conclusion, if we careful reading of the texts can reveal the ideological assumptions which inform their production.
